Finnish lessons
I have decades of experience teaching Finnish in comprehensive school, as well as a university degree in teaching Finnish as a second or foreign language. I believe that making mistakes is a natural and important part of learning – There is no need to aim for perfection.
Learning is most effective when it is varied, enjoyable and relaxed. We will set your goals together and work towards them step by step. In my lessons, you can feel comfortable using Finnish without worrying about making mistakes.
Mistakes are valuable learning opportunities, especially when an experienced teacher can help you understand how Finnish works and why things are said the way they are.
My goal is to help you communicate confidently in Finnish – to understand what others are saying and, most importantly, to make yourself understood.

I offer you private online Finnish lessons
The content of the lessons is set on first meeting and tailored to your needs.
How long one lesson takes?
The lesson duration is 50 minutes. In addition, you will receive homework. You can study with or without a textbook.
You can choose the textbook from Suomen mestari 1, 2 or 3, or Oma suomi 1.
Where the lessons takes place?
The lessons take place online via Google Meet. One lesson is 50 minutes long.

In which language are the lessons given?
In addition to Finnish, the teaching language is English.
I also know Swedish, some German and Greek, and I have studied the basics of French and Spanish.
This can help me understand the differences between your native language and Finnish.
What happens on the first meeting?
During the first lesson, we get to know each other, assess your current level and goals, and create a plan for moving forward together. You will also learn useful Finnish vocabulary and sentences. You pay for the first lesson when booking it. The second, free lesson will be scheduled during the first session; this way, you get the first two lessons for the price of one. The second lesson focuses on working purposefully toward your goals. To continue, you can book lessons according to your own schedule. This offer applies to first time customers. The lessons take place on Google Meet.
How much one lesson costs?
The price of a lesson is 28 euros.
If you want a package of several lessons, you will get one free for every ten lessons.
You will receive material and homework at a level that suits you and with varying methods.
Can we have group lessons?
Yes, you can put together your own small group of, for example, family members or friends, 2 – 4 people. By studying in a group, you get a discount of 2 e per person per lesson.
First meeting 30 min
During the first session, we will get to know each other (and learn Finnish aside) and determine your basic skill level and goals. Together we will make a follow-up plan. The first meeting is free when you book at least one lesson. You get one free 50 min lesson after the first 30 min meeting, based on your specific needs.
Private lesson 50 min
When you continue your studies with me, we will cover topics of your choices. Lessons will be held on Google Meet. You will receive materials and homework tailored to your needs on your level. The price for a 50 min lesson is 28 euros.
Group lesson 50 min
You can fix up a group of 2-4 friends or family members. For a group session, each participant receives a two-euro discount on the standard session price. On group lesson, each pays 26 euros instead of normal 28 euro per session per person.
